Pool coping cost

Published figure, not ours: $40–$60/lf (River Pools & Spas, 2025-08-18)Natural-stone coping pricing depends heavily on material selection, thickness, edge profile, substrate condition, and whether tile and resurfacing are bundled.
Coping follows perimeter

The app traces footprint, perimeter, surface area, and gallons.
Scope and finish choices turn the measured pool into an estimate path.
Definition
It is not trim. Coping caps the top of the pool shell, protects the cold joint where the shell was built up level, and gives swimmers the edge they grab, sit on, and push off from all season.
When coping or the grout at its joints fails, water reaches that cold joint. Freeze-thaw and expansion cycles can start popping the beam, which is why coping problems and bond-beam problems often arrive together.
Materials
The deck itself formed over the pool edge. Seamless look, value play, repairable in kind.
The classic safety-grip edge and remodel workhorse. Deck 3 asked for a separate public range, but no source at our citation standard separates it cleanly from poured/cantilever.
The premium tier: cooler underfoot, ages beautifully, costs like it.
Traditional, durable, and increasingly a regional taste.
These three share a drain-down, share crews, and physically interlock. Coping sets the height, tile tucks under the coping, and surface tucks behind the tile.
Doing them together is not upselling. It is one mobilization instead of three, and it is why the standard remodel tier exists.
