Pick the work you are considering. The estimator only asks questions that apply to it.
- 2

Pool interior, perimeter, spa or deck — whichever surfaces your project actually touches.

See your range
A preliminary estimate with the assumptions behind it spelled out, plus what still needs a contractor.
- 4
Decide what happens next
Keep the estimate for planning, or ask us to send it to a local professional for a real proposal.
Popular project estimates
National planning ranges for an average 15 × 30 ft pool. Your own range depends on size, finish, condition and where you live.
Why we ask you to measure — and only when it matters
Pool work is priced by surface, not by "pool size". A resurfacing quote is driven by the interior square footage; tile and coping are quoted by the linear foot around the edge; deck work is quoted by deck square footage. Ask for the wrong dimension and the estimate is guesswork.
So the estimator asks only for the measurements your selected project actually uses — and if you have not measured yet, it will show you how, or take a common pool size as a starting point.
- Pool
- Interior surface area for finishes; perimeter for tile and coping.
- Spa
- An attached spa is a separate surface and is usually its own line item.
- Deck
- Square footage, plus the condition of the slab underneath it.
Why homeowners start here
A number before a phone call
Find out whether a project is financially realistic without booking three site visits to get three quotes.
The assumptions are shown
Every estimate lists what it was calculated from and what it could not account for. No black box.
Your measurements travel with you
If you ask for a contractor review, your dimensions, selections and photos go with the request — so you are not measured from scratch.
One project, one contractor
We do not sell your details to five companies who then race to call you. Projects go to one professional suited to the work.
Where PoolSavr operates

How contractor matching works
When you request a review, we package what you have already told us — project type, measurements, materials, photos, timeline and your preliminary estimate — and send it to one local professional who works on that category of job.
They see a defined project instead of a name and a phone number, which is why the conversation usually starts at "here is what that would cost" rather than "what are you looking to do?"
How to read a PoolSavr estimate
- Step 1
Instant estimate
Based on your project selections and general pricing assumptions. Useful for deciding whether a project is realistic.
- Step 2
Measured estimate
Uses your pool, spa, or deck dimensions to price the work against the areas actually being resurfaced, tiled, or replaced.
- Step 3
Contractor proposal
Prepared by a licensed professional after inspecting the site. This is the only number that becomes a contract.
PoolSavr is an estimating and matching platform. We do not perform pool work ourselves — licensed local professionals do. Contractors pay PoolSavr for qualified project leads, which is how the estimating tools stay free for homeowners. A PoolSavr estimate is a planning range, never a guaranteed quote — read thefull estimate disclaimer.
Frequently asked questions
- Is the PoolSavr estimate free?
- Yes. You can build an estimate and see your range without paying anything and without providing contact information. We only ask for your details if you decide you want a local contractor to review the project.
- Is this a real quote?
- No. A PoolSavr estimate is a planning range built from your selections and measurements against published pricing assumptions. Only a licensed contractor who inspects your pool can produce a number you can sign.
- How does PoolSavr make money if the estimate is free?
- Pool professionals pay us for qualified project leads — homeowners who have defined a real project and asked to be contacted. That is the entire business model, and it is why we would rather send a contractor five well-specified projects than five hundred names.
- Do I have to talk to a contractor?
- No. Plenty of people use PoolSavr purely to find out whether a project is financially realistic before going any further. Your estimate is yours whether or not you ask for a contractor review.
- What if I do not know my pool measurements?
- Start from a common pool size and you will still get a usable range. The estimator will show you how to measure the surfaces that matter for your project, and supplying real dimensions narrows the range considerably.
