Where the pool is, and what kind of pool it is. Location drives the regional pricing adjustment and determines whether we have contractors who can actually serve you. We ask for a full address only if you decide you want a contractor review.

Measure the relevant areas
Only the surfaces your project touches: interior square footage for finishes, perimeter for tile and coping, deck area for hardscape. If you have not measured, start from a common pool size and refine later — you will still get a usable range.

Select materials and options
Choose a finish, tile and coping materials, and any equipment you want included. Each choice updates the estimate immediately, so you can see what a decision costs before you commit to it.

Receive a preliminary estimate
You get a range, a confidence level, the assumptions behind the number, and an explicit list of what still needs a contractor to verify. No contact information is required to reach this point.

Request a contractor review — if you want one
If you would like a real proposal, we package your project and send it to one local professional who works on that category. If you would rather just keep the estimate for planning, that is a perfectly normal outcome.

What we do with your information
Until you ask for a contractor review, everything you enter stays with your estimate. We do not sell browsing data, and we do not pass your details to anyone because you started an estimate and stopped.
When you do request a review, the package we send contains your project type, measurements, material selections, any photos you uploaded, your timeline, your preliminary estimate and your contact details. - Do I have to give my contact details to see an estimate?
- No. The estimate, the range and the assumptions are all visible without providing any contact information. We only ask for your details if you decide you want a contractor to review the project.
- How long does it take?
- Five to ten minutes if you already know your pool dimensions. Longer if you are measuring as you go, in which case you can save your progress and come back.
- What if I do not know my measurements?
- Start from a common pool size. You will get a wider range with a lower confidence rating, and the estimator will show you how to measure the specific surfaces that matter for your project.
- What happens to my information if I request a review?
- It goes to one local contractor suited to your project — not to a list of companies. We tell you before you submit exactly what will be shared: your project details, measurements, photos, timeline and contact information.
- Does it cost anything?
- Not to you. Contractors pay PoolSavr for qualified project leads, which is what keeps the estimating tools free for homeowners.
- Can I change my mind after requesting a review?
- Yes. Contact us and we will withdraw the request. If a contractor has already been assigned, we will tell them the project is no longer active.
